Up and Over Challenge 2018
Adventure Race - Nephin Mountain
The Adventure Race called The UP and Over Challenge is returning on April 14th . The event is in its second year and begins with a 5km climb from Lahardane village to the foot of Nephin mountain , an ascent from Carrowskeheen and descent down by Cloughbrack followed by a 5km road run back to the village.
The course record for 2017:
Mens: David Sands at an impressive 1 hour 27 minutes 32 seconds
Ladies: Rachel Nolan at a rapid 1 hour 52 minutes 22 seconds.
The Nephin mountain stands at 806 metres, even higher than Croagh Patrick! The views from the summit are breathtaking and encompass the majestic Clew Bay to the West and Lough Conn & Lough Cullen to the East.
Refreshments and prizes will be available in Murphys Pub after the race.
This is a charity event and all proceeds go towards supporting community groups in the local area.
